Home Visits

Home visits are reserved for patients who are housebound or too ill to come to the health centre. If you require a visit, please phone before 10am.

The receptionist will ask what the reason for the visit is, whether you can attend the health centre and if you would rather see a GP from the surgery or if you would be happy to see a GP from the Home Visit Service from Viaduct Health (GP Federation). Please do not be offended by this as it is purely to enable the receptionist to pass on the correct details to the doctor. The doctor may phone you back before visiting to assess whether a visit is required.

The doctor may ask you to attend the health centre or may offer a telephone consultation.

At home the doctor will only have limited equipment and it is often difficult to perform a full assessment of your symptoms. It is therefore essential that if it is at all possible that you attend the Surgery to see the doctor.
