Breast Screening – Brinnington Surgery
If you’re female, aged 50 to 70, and registered with Brinnington Surgery, you will be getting a letter inviting you to your breast screening appointment.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. Screening helps find it early, even when it’s too small to see or feel.
Screening is done by the East Cheshire and Stockport Breast Screening Service.
Your appointment will be at the mobile unit at Brinnington Health Centre.
When you arrive, the friendly, all-female team will help you feel relaxed and safe. You can bring a friend or family member if it makes you feel better.
If you find it hard to walk up steps, there is a lift to help you get on board. If you use a wheelchair, there are longer appointment times. Your letter will tell you how to book one of these.
Look out for your letter in the post. Don’t miss your appointment—it could save your life!
If you haven’t received your letter, check that your GP has your correct contact details.
You can find out more about breast screening on the Healthy Stockport website.
